Tan-through swimwear, explained
BetterTan tan-through swimwear is made from MicroTan® fabric: 92% polyamide and 8% elastane, made in Europe. Its air-space weave of tiny micro-perforations lets part of the sun's UV pass through the swimsuit, so the skin underneath keeps tanning while you wear it. You get a softer, more even tan without sharp strap lines, and without untying straps on the beach.

Tan-through swimwear FAQ
Do tan-through swimsuits really work?
Yes, within limits. The fabric lets part of the UV through, so you tan under it, but more slowly and lightly than on bare skin. How much depends on the UV index, your skin type and how long you're in the sun. The result is a soft, even tan instead of hard strap lines.
Do I need sunscreen under a tan-through swimsuit?
Yes. Because UV passes through the fabric, the skin under your swimsuit can burn too. Apply sunscreen under it the same way you would on bare skin.
Can I wear it in the pool and the sea?
Yes. The fabric has been tested in salt water and chlorine for durability. Rinse it in cold water after swimming and dry it in the shade. Avoid bleach, fabric softener and long chlorine soaks.
How do I choose my size?
Styles run from XS to 3XL. Check the size chart on each product page before you order. Sizing up can slightly reduce how much sun gets through the fabric.
